The Cornell team of Dr. Frank Rossi, Dr. Jennifer Grant and Bob Portmess is offering a 3 and a half hour session loaded with credits called, “Reduced Chemical Management on Golf Course Turf," at the Empire State Green Industry Show. The credit break down is DEC credits 3a and 3b, meaning 3 each, and CNLP credits 3.5.
The Cornell team will redefine IPM on golf courses and review cultural management practices to reduce reliance on pesticides.

Insect & Disease Management
Dr. John Inguagiato, with the University of Connecticut, will talk about anthracnose best management practices.
Dr. Ben McGraw, SUNY Delhi, and Dr. Daniel Peck, NYSAES, Cornell University, will review traditional and more recent approaches to annual bluegrass weevil management.
Herbicides & Plant Growth Regulators
Dr. Ronald Calhoun, Michigan State University, will provide strategies to effectively manage golf course weeds. He’ll discuss the use of herbicides and plant growth regulators on golf turf.
Pest Management
Dr. Frank Rossi will present an overview of the past year as it relates to turf pests and stress including environmental conditions, major problems, and the lessons learned.
United States Golf Association Sessions
David Oatis, Northeast Region, USGA Green Section, will present, “Fairway Conversion with Herbicides.” He will discuss the value of planting improved grasses, preparation considerations, and management challenges.
Adam Moeller, USGA Green Section, will present “Putting Green Rootzone Management,” focusing on drainage and rootzone modification strategies.
James Skorulski, USGA, will present information on creating and managing natural grass areas including site considerations, weed management, and density factors.
