PRATVILLE, Ala. – Davey Tree Expert Co. and the City of Prattville will partner to provide recycling for Christmas trees.
“Our Sanitation and Horticulture Departments will join Davey and offer a recycling service that will benefit our community,” said Prattville Mayor Jim Byard Jr.
Using this free service reduces the amount of debris sent to the city’s landfill and provides reuse of organic materials.
“Davey will chip-up the recycled trees, turning them into much needed mulch that will be offered to citizens and used by our landscaping crews throughout the city," Byard said.
The Christmas tree drop-off location is the City of Prattville Recycling Center located at 122 Ridgewood Road. Trees will be accepted between Wed., December 29, 2010 and Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 from 8a.m. - 5p.m. Trees should be free of all lights, ornaments, plastic, etc.
