Paving webinar July 12

David Hein, chair of the new ASCE T&DI Permeable Pavement Structural Design Committee, will host Permeable Pavement Master Class Series, Advanced Design & Construction of Permeable Pavements at 2 p.m. July 12. The webinar will explore the structural and hydrological design and construction features, challenges, and application of permeable pavements (porous asphalt, pervious concrete, and permeable interlocking concrete pavements) through real-world worked examples and case studies of permeable pavement design.

Hein will offer an overview of the design and construction of porous asphalt, pervious concrete, and permeable interlocking concrete block pavements, including:

• Subgrade preparation
• Characterization of design traffic
• Base and sub-base materials
• Design for structural capacity
• Design for hydrological capacity
