FarmLinks introduces new educational opportunities

The research and demonstration facility offers lawn care operators a chance to see real-world applications of new chemistries and learn about new technologies in development.

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Green industry professionals now have more options for continuing education at FarmLinks.

FarmLinks – a research and demonstration facility and championship golf course – is expanding its golf-focused offerings to lawn care operators and PCOs, giving them a chance to see real-world applications of new chemistries and learn about new technologies in development.

The facility is supported by the Toro Company, Club Car, Aquatrols, Tru-Turf and Wacker Neuson, Agrium Advanced Technologies and BASF.

During the next 12-18 months, FarmLinks, along with a number of existing partners and several new companies, will pilot a collection of new programs, to deliver issues-based, solutions-oriented content to even more guests.

Currently, new pilot programs underway or planned for the coming months include the following:
  • Lawn care operators – designed to provide answers for the challenges this industry faces, from an agronomic and business perspective.
  • Pest control operators – 22 different building structures (ranging from new construction residential and commercial buildings to Antebellum homes, and from crawl spaces to slab foundations) provide a perfect demonstration platform for varying types of pest control applications.
“The set-up and the facilities that we have here are second to none,” says President Erle Fairly. “We are the world’s first and only research and demonstration golf course.  And it just makes sense to take the educational model we’ve used so successfully over the past decade to introduce new programs and reach new industries.”
