Bayer Environmental Science, a business group of Bayer CropScience LP, hosted the first annual Plant Health Symposium on November 10 - 11, 2009 in Raleigh, N.C.
Bayer has created an advisory council of lawn care professionals and golf course superintendents who, alongside university researchers, discussed plant health and its impact on the future of the green industry.
Healthy, well-maintained green spaces (turfgrass, trees and plants) provide positive environmental benefits such as decreasing erosion, buffering noise as well as the cooling effect on temperature.
The Plant Health Initiative includes innovative technology and state-of-the-art research, centering at the Bayer Development and Training Center in Clayton, N.C., and is complimented by the research facilities at North Carolina State University.
