Northwest Flower & Garden Show tickets on sale

The 2012 theme is “A Floral Symphony … Gardens Take Note.”

SEATTLE – Online and advance ticket sales are on sale for the 2012 Northwest Flower & Garden Show, Feb. 8-12 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. The five-day event introduces “A Floral Symphony… Gardens Take Note” as the theme for 2012, with display gardens and other show features spotlighting music of many genres.

The show will present 25 top garden creators weaving musical elements into colorful full-scale gardens. Periodic musical performances will take place both in the gardens and on special stages.

The show continues its tradition of internationally-known speakers sharing “how-to” tips for both avid and beginning gardeners in more than 120 seminars. It’s also a shopping destination with 350 exhibitors offering tools and other gardening gear, plants and unique art for the home and garden. In addition, children can explore “The PlayGarden," an educational and hands-on exhibit.

“If you have a gardener on your holiday gift list, tickets to this show take the guesswork out of the shopping experience,” said show producer Terry O’Loughlin of Northwest-based O’Loughlin Trade Shows. “And with children under 12 admitted free, it’s a tremendous entertainment value for the entire family.”

The show has teamed up with Pendleton to offer the limited edition “Counting Sheep” Eco-Wise Wool  baby blanket, with partial proceeds from sales benefitting the Seattle Children’s PlayGarden. The blankets can be pre-ordered at www.gardenshow.com for $60 (reg. $74) or purchased at the show for $64.

In addition, show tickets purchased online or at participating outlets can be redeemed for 20 percent off one regular-priced Pendleton apparel item at participating Pendleton retail locations in Washington or Oregon.

Online tickets can be purchased by visiting the show’s site: www.gardenshow.com.  Prices range from $16 for adults (reg. $20 the week of the show or at the door); $15 per person for group advance purchases (minimum of 20 tickets online or at the door); $29 for single 2-day pass; $65 for single 5-day pass and $5 for youth (ages 12 – 17). Children under 12 are admitted free to the show.
