Former NFL star to speak at OTF

Four-time Pro Bowler, Chris Spielman, will be the keynote speaker at the event in December.

DAYTON, Ohio – The Ohio Turfgrass Foundation and keynote address presenting sponsor, Syngenta, have announced that Chris Spielman will be the Keynote speaker at the 2012 OTF Conference and Show.

Spielman is a former Ohio State Buckeye and two-time All-American linebacker. Following his collegiate career, Spielman spent 11 seasons in the National Football League and was a Pro-Bowl selection four times. Currently, he is a college football analyst for ESPN, radio personality on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus and active in the fight against cancer.

His high school sweetheart and wife, Stefanie, lost her 12 year battle with breast cancer in November of 2009. Together, they formed The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research in 1999 and have raised more than $10 Million for cancer research. Spielman retired from the NFL to take care of Stefanie and their four children and remains committed to her legacy of hope and finding a cure for cancer.

Spielman recently released a book titled, That’s Why I’m Here. In his book, Spielman traces his storied career, recalls his courtship of Stefanie and writes about the deep spiritual faith that gave their family wisdom and comfort in times of struggle.

The Keynote Address presented by Syngenta will take place on Wednesday, December 5th on the tradeshow floor main stage at 1:45 pm.
