Terracare Associates acquires Cimarron Landscape

With private equity backing, the Colorado company makes its second acquisition.

LITTLETON, Colo. – Terracare Associates and its financial partner, Progress Equity Partners, has acquired Cimarron Landscape of Sacramento, Calif.

Terracare ranked 43rd on the 2011 Lawn & Landscape Top 100 list, with revenue of $25 million and 250 year-round employees.

The acquisition – just the second for the company since 2008 – expands Terracare's presence in the Sacramento market and adds 50 employees to its rolls. In 2008, Terracare acquired Perry Lake Management, a Sacramento based lake management company specializing in developing site specific lake management plans, water quality monitoring, compliance and control programs.

Terracare Associates was founded in 1975 as Randall & Blake, Inc., and joined with Littleton, Colo.-based American Civil Constructors in 2000. In 2009, Terracare was spun off as a stand-alone commercial landscape maintenance company.

“Terracare Associates' geographic footprint in California continues to grow.  We believe that adding Sacramento based Cimarron Landscape to our existing Loomis based operations provides a strategic advantage to our clients in that market,” said Dean Murphy, President of Terracare Associates, in a relase.

Jeff Slough, who founded Cimarron Landscape in 1983, will stay on with Terracare Associates, according to a release.
