ProSource One, Memphis, Tenn., recently announced that Frank Lopes, senior turf representative, has been awarded Seed Research of Oregon's "National Seed Marketing Award of Excellence." Lopes works out of ProSource One's Athens, Georgia office serving golf, sports, lawn care and other turf customers.
"Frank has been very active in the seed business for many years and was, by far, the most qualified candidate this year," said Jay McCord, director of turf seed development for ProSource One. "We're all very proud of his accomplishments."
When asked what gave him the edge in this year's competition Lopes replied: "Grass seed is often looked at as a commodity, but during the last year we've been able to differentiate our products through service, quality and knowledge."
Lopes has been with ProSource One since its inception in January of 2000 and has been with Land O'Lakes, ProSource One's corporate parent, since 1996.
The official announcement of the aaward was made in June at Seed Research of Oregon's Seed Camp meetings being held at their facilities in Oregon.
