INDIANAPOLIS – Dow AgroSciences announced label changes today for granular and liquid formulations of its MACH 2 insecticide. The new, federally-approved label states that all white grub larvae can be treated with 2 pounds of the active ingredient halofenozide per acre.
Earlier labels specified a range of 1.5 to 2 pounds of halofenozide per acre, depending on the type of grub. The new regulations allow insecticide applicators to easily apply treatment for grubs without identifying the grub type, according to a press release. “Often it’s a challenge to tell the difference between grub species,” said Chris Wooley, Dow AgroSciences product marketing manager, in the release. “With the new label, all labeled grubs can now be treated at the 2-pound rate.”
MACH 2 is used to control grubs as well as secondary pests such as cutworms, webworms, armyworms and fall armyworms. The product is sold nationwide except for in California, and in Nassau and Suffolk counties in New York.
