Police in West Virginia have identified the man killed in a Charleston tree trimming accident as 35-year-old Steven A. Robinette of Catlettsburg, Ky.
Robinette, an employee of Prichard Lawn Care of Ashland, Ky., died Monday when a limb estimated to weigh as much as 800 pounds fell on him.
Police say Robinette and a co-worker were removing a smaller tree. When the smaller tree was moved, a weak branch on a larger tree nearby fell about 40 feet, hitting the victim.
Prichard Lawn Care had been contracted by Appalachian Electric Power to clear rights of way around the utility's Greenbrier substation.
A message left at Prichard was not returned.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
