Eighty percent of Cedar Hills, Utah-based Platinum Landscape’s work is located within 10 miles from the office, so a tight route keeps travel time and costs low and the company’s logoed trucks and trailers in view of potential customers regularly.
Other marketing methods the company uses include 24-by-36-inch yard signs that cost $45 per sign and landscaping for the annual Parade of Homes, which is put on by builders in the area. In addition to getting paid for the work, company Owner Rick Meinzer and General Manager Dan Reilley spend time at the homes during the two-week Parade to create dialogue with potential clients.
“This marketing method doesn’t pay off right away, but it does later on after people build a home and keep our card on hand for when they need a new landscape to go with their new investment,” Meinzer says.
