The Mid-America Horticultural Trade Show (Mid-Am) board of directors held elections at a recent meeting in Shaumburg, Ill. The board is comprised of representatives from Mid-Am’s three sponsoring organizations: the Illinois Landscape Contractor’s Association (ILCA), the Illinois Nurserymen’s Association (INA) and the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation (WGIF), formerly known as the Wisconsin Landscape Federation.
The board of directors elected the following officers for 2005-2006:
- President: John Hendrickson, The Care of Trees, Wheeling, Ill.
- Vice President: Randy Jasperson, Jasperson Sod, Franksville, Wis.
- Secretary: Kurt Meyer, Meyer Landscape & Design, Moline, Ill.
- Treasurer: Tom Kusmerz, The Barn Nursery & Landscape Center, Cary, Ill.
All four officers were re-elected to their 2004-2005 positions. Additionally, Hendrickson and Jasperson were both reappointed to three-year terms representing ILCA and WGIF, respectively, on the Mid-Am board.
Mid-Am also appointed a new director during the recent elections. Carsten Hoffmeyer of Hoffie Nursery, Union, Ill., was appointed to represent INA, replacing Larry Thalmann III of Chalet Nursery & Garden Shop, Wilmette, Ill., who retired from the board. Remaining on the board are:
- Greg Oltman, GRO Horticultural Enterprises, Union, Ill., representing ILCA
- Richard Harms, Countryside Flower Shop & Nursery, Crystal Lake, Ill., representing INA
- Bill Vogel, Spring Valley Turf Products, Jacksonville, Wis., representing WGIF
