Mid-Am Elects Board of Directors

Richard Harms of Countryside Flower Shop & Nursery in Crystal Lake, Ill., representing IGIA was elected president during the recent meeting.

The Mid-America Horticultural Trade Show (Mid-Am) Board of Directors held elections at a recent meeting in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The board of directors is comprised of representatives from Mid-Am’s three sponsoring organizations:  the Illinois Green Industry Association (IGIA), the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association (ILCA), and the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation (WGIF). 

The Board of Directors elected new officers for 2008-2009. Richard Harms of Countryside Flower Shop & Nursery in Crystal Lake, Ill., representing IGIA was elected president after previously serving as vice president; Barbara Rosborough of Rosborough Partners in Libertyville, Ill., representing ILCA was elected vice president after previously serving as secretary; Bill Vogel of Spring Valley Turf Products in Jackson, Wis., representing WGIF was elected secretary after previously serving as treasurer and Carsten Hoffmeyer of Hoffie Nursery in Union, Ill., representing IGIA was elected treasurer. 

Mid-Am appointed two new directors and re-appointed another during the recent elections. Steve Fiore L.A. of Rocco Fiore & Sons, in Lake Forest, Ill., representing ILCA was appointed to a three-year term and Terry Kurth of Weed Man Lawn Care in Middleton, Wis., representing WGIF was appointed to a two-year term. Carsten Hoffmeyer of Hoffie Nursery in Union, Ill., representing IGIA was re-appointed for another three year term. Connor Shaw of Possibility Place Nursery in Monee, Ill., representing IGIA and Dave Story of Bartlett Tree Experts in Northbrook, Ill., representing ILCA both remain on the board.
