National Foliage Foundation Awards $17,000 to Students

The awards were given through the James H. Davis Memorial Scholarship and General Scholarship Funds.

The National Foliage Foundation (NFF) has awarded scholarships to 11 students throughout Florida through the James H. Davis Memorial Scholarship and NFF General Scholarship Fund. The James H. Davis Memorial scholarship was created in 1997 through a generous gift of the James H. Davis’ estate.
Additional funds have also been earmarked for scholarship by dedicated NFF contributors which have been placed in a general scholarship fund. Through both opportunities, NFF has been providing the means for students to pursue careers in horticulture or related fields on a yearly basis. NFF believes every student should have the right to receive quality education and has made the commitment to help students accomplish their goals.

Individuals attending community colleges, universities or other post graduate program in Florida are eligible to apply as long as they met the specific criteria of either scholarship.

For the 2007/2008 academic school, the following students will receive NFF Scholarships:

Davis, a respected tree farm owner and member of the Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association (FNGLA). Davis was the founder and owner of Davis Tree Farm from 1978 until his death in 1995.
