The Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) announced that the Nevada Landscape Association has been licensed by ALCA to provide the Certified Landscape Technician-Exterior (CLT) program in Nevada. "ALCA is proud that NLA is offering this certification," said Debra Holder, ALCA executive vice president. "This is a member benefit that gives landscape contractors a standard by which they can be judged, and the client has a tool for assessing value."
Kurt Kluznik, CCLP, spoke about the value of ALCA certification. "More and more property managers, landscape architects and other consumers of landscape services are including specifications that require that an ALCA-certified individual must be on staff in order for a company to submit a bid for a project," he said. "In addition, many contractors use the CLT as a basis for their company training program and as part of their employee advancement system."
Nevada joins 21 other state associations and four regional divisions of the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association as a member of the International Landscape Technician Council (ILTC) – the organization that coordinates the CLT-Exterior program. Each association administers an annual test for employees of landscape contracting firms.
