New American Floral Endowment Trustees Elected

Members from Minnesota, Oregon and Bogota, Columbia join the board of trustees.

The American Floral Endowment has elected three new trustees to serve three-year terms. Paul Bachman, Bachman’s, Minneapolis, Minn.; David Niklas, Clackamas Greenhouses, Aurora, Ore.; and Ernesto Velez, Asocolflores, Bogota, Colombia have been elected to serve on the board of trustees. Since its founding in 1961, more than $12 million has been distributed to support research and educational programs throughout the floral industry. Trustees serve at their own expense.

 

In fiscal year 2005, the Endowment is supporting 10 scientific research projects at universities across the United States and is currently defining objectives for significant upcoming consumer research.

Additionally, the Vic & Margaret Ball Internship Program awarded five scholarships to students who are interested in production internships. The Mosmiller Scholarship awarded four scholarships to students who are interested in retail internships. The Endowment also awarded six educational grants.  

 

The American Floral Endowment is a not-for-profit corporation that raises and prudently invests funds to support production and market research and education programs to benefit the floriculture industry.
