The American Floral Endowment has elected three new trustees to serve three-year terms. Paul Bachman, Bachman’s, Minneapolis, Minn.; David Niklas, Clackamas Greenhouses, Aurora, Ore.; and Ernesto Velez, Asocolflores, Bogota, Colombia have been elected to serve on the board of trustees. Since its founding in 1961, more than $12 million has been distributed to support research and educational programs throughout the floral industry. Trustees serve at their own expense.
In fiscal year 2005, the Endowment is supporting 10 scientific research projects at universities across the United States and is currently defining objectives for significant upcoming consumer research.
