With more than 25 years of experience in public and private sector accounting and financial management, Orlando-based Middleton Lawn and Pest Control, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunair Services Corporation, has named Edward Carriero to chief financial officer (CFO).
In his role as CFO, Carriero will lead Middleton’s financial operations for the company’s current network of 26 branch offices serving more than 117,000 accounts in 26 Florida counties and will manage the financial strategy for future Middleton acquisitions.
“Edward’s experience is world class and we welcome him to the Middleton team,” says Greg Clendenin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Middleton Lawn & Pest Control. “His years of experience in accounting and financial management, as well as his work with acquisitions will be extremely valuable to Middleton as we continue to expand and grow our company.”
Prior to joining Middleton, Carriero held several operating positions for Huizenga Holdings, Inc. during his seven year tenure including: executive vice president/chief financial officer and director for Life General Security Insurance Company, a $100,000 million life and health insurance company operating in 27 states; executive vice president/chief operating officer for Blue Ribbon Water Company, a bottled water delivery company; and, vice president and general manager of Suncoast Helicopters, Inc., a helicopter charter company.
Carriero also has extensive experience in business growth and development and has performed due diligence on many proposed divestitures and business acquisitions.
Carriero received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, N.Y. and his MBA from the University of Miami where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was valedictorian of his class.
