New Holland has introduced the new Workmaster 35C and Workmaster 40C compact tractors.

“The Workmaster 35C and 40C represent the next step in elevating our compact tractor lineup,” says Mike Sevick, compact tractor business manager, New Holland North America. “These affordable, yet highly capable tractors are built with thoughtful design enhancements that keep operators comfortable, confident and productive.”

Getting on and off the tractor’s platform is easier than on previous models, with substantial grab handles on each steel fender, a left-hand step and a wide threshold to and from the seat. For added comfort, ease and safety, there's a semi-flat deck design under an operator's feet with a low transmission hump and a standard rubber floor mat.

To accommodate all operators, a vinyl seat offers a variety of adjustments. Once in the seat, operators will find the wide, ergonomically positioned steering wheel with perforations to ensure maximum control. The dash provides key operating information at a glance, and operators have pedals and control levers with large, color-coded knobs.

Additionally, these tractors are built in-house with modern styling that aligns with New Holland’s newest flagship tractors, including the recently launched T7 Standard Wheelbase tractors.

“The Workmaster 35C and 40C are where economy meets elegance. They feature our signature Connective Flow styling, which includes a sculpted hood, sleek decals and all-new Dynamic Blue paint and silver rims,” Sevick says.

Workmaster 35C and 40C owners will be able to dig into a variety of projects with the new 250LC front loader and 270BC backhoe. The 250LC front loader has an easy-to-reach joystick with simultaneous lift and curl capability. The skid-steer quick-attach faceplate provides commonality with popular attachments, including grapples, which also work with the optional live 3rd function kit.

“The dealer-installed 3rd function kit is a new addition to our loader offering that aligns with feedback we’ve heard from dealers and customers,” Sevick says.

For digging and trenching tasks, the all-new 270BC backhoe is available for both models and delivers impressive digging capability up to 87 inches (2,210 mms) deep with the standard 16-inch bucket. The 270BC backhoe features a redesigned mounting system that improves under-tractor clearance and allows for quick attachment and removal — without removing the three-point hitch arms. This lets operators switch between backhoe work to three-point implements in just minutes. Options include a mechanical thumb to clamp material, rubber street pads to protect paved and concrete surfaces and smaller and larger bucket sizes.

The two models are powered by a 3-cylinder 1.9L engine. Accessing all major routine service points is easy with the lightweight, single-piece metal flip-up hood, where standard oil checks can be conducted without lifting the hood. The tractors feature large, 12.6-gallon (48L) fuel tanks with the fill neck located on the rear fender.

Furthering customizability, customers can choose between a simple-to-operate, three-range dual-pedal hydrostatic transmission with independent forward and reverse pedals or a 12x12 mechanical transmission with a synchronized left-hand shuttle.

Tire offerings include the R3+ hybrid tires, which feature a directional block-type tread pattern that is gentle on grass, good in wintery conditions and adequate in soil. R4 industrial tires, R3 turf tires and R1 ag tires are also offered on both Workmaster models.

The front axle has a dedicated steering pump for smooth, responsive control even when carrying a full bucket as well as a sharp turning radius that is reduced by over 8 inches (203 mm) compared to prior models.

Additional Workmaster features:

  • The heavy-duty three-point hitch features a 2,067 lb. (937.5 kg) lift capacity, which represents a 14% increase over prior Workmaster compact models.
  • Telescopic stabilizers are standard, offering a simple pin adjustment on the lower link arms for added convenience and control.
  • The tractors feature a dual-pump hydraulic system that provides dedicated hydraulic flow for fast loader cycle times and improved steering, even with a full bucket. For customers who require rear hydraulic capability for implements, such as a log splitter, up to three optional rear remotes can be installed, along with color-coded levers, just to the right of the seat.
  • A limited warranty that provides 24 months or 750 hours of full coverage, plus an additional 48 months (72 total) or 1,500 hours of powertrain protection, is included with new Workmaster models.
