The owner of an Englewood Cliffs landscaping company was killed March 26 when an unattended dump truck rolled down an incline and pinned him against a building, authorities said.
Police found the body of Angelo Cecere, 64, between the truck and an abandoned commercial building on Grand Avenue. No one was behind the wheel of the Ford F-350.
It is unclear whether the truck, which was on a sloped driveway, was left in park or had its parking brake on, Nebbia said. There were no witnesses, he said.
Workers with Cecere's company, Frangelo Landscaping Inc., were on the other side of the building doing landscaping work, Nebbia said. Cecere had arrived separately, he said.
"We are still investigating what happened," Nebbia said. "At this point, we don't know how the vehicle rolled down."
A message left at the company's Englewood Cliffs office was not immediately returned Monday. Cecere's family members couldn't be reached for comment.
