A 13-year-old teenage boy was killed Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a landscaping truck while riding an electric bicycle in Scotch Plains, officials said.
The accident happened at 2:12 p.m. at the intersection of Mountain and Mountainview avenues, according to a statement from Scotch Plains Mayor Josh Losardo.
When police arrived, they found the teen suffering from critical injuries. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark for treatment, the Scotch Plains Police Department said in a statement, and later died from his injuries.
