PEORIA, Ill. - Caterpillar recently introduced a comprehensive line of more than 30 different types of work tools designed specifically for the Cat Skid Steer Loader line. The tools use a coupler interface that matches the Cat Skid Steer Loader universal, mechanical quick coupler system for quick, secure work tool changes. The work tool line includes:
BUCKETS AND PALLET FORKS
Caterpillar offers general purpose, dirt, utility, light material and multi-purpose buckets (pictured at right), as well as pallet forks for versatility. The buckets range in size from 54 to 78 inches and feature capacities from 10.5 to 26.5 cubic feet. One pallet fork configuration is available with three fork length options: 36, 42 and 48 inches.
AUGERS
Two auger types (one pictured at left) are available: the chain-driven A13, which provides approximately 1,300 pound-feet of torque at 2,100 psi, and the planetary-driven A19, which provides approximately 1,900 pound-feet of torque at 2,100 psi.
LANDSCAPE TILLERS
These tillers utilize a dual-motor direct drive system for pulverizing and tilling performance. Tiller tines bolt on and include working widths of either 52 inches (LT13) or 73 inches (LT18).
TRENCHERS
A direct drive system powers Caterpillar trenchers. One trencher size is available: the T9 with approximately 850 pound-feet of torque at 2,650 psi. The T9 has a 48-inch boom, a 6-inch minimum cutting width and hardfaced teeth at every station.
LANDSCAPE RAKES
Caterpillar landscape rakes (pictured at right) feature a chain reduction drive system and chain conveyor system for raking and collecting debris. The LR15 model has a 60-inch raking width and the LR18 has a 72-inch raking width. The units collect rock and debris ranging from 0.75 inches to 6 inches from finish graded soil. Both units have a typical raking depth of 0.75 inches to a maximum of 1.5 inches, depending on soil conditions.
