BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - Profile Products, LLC, now exclusively offers biodegradable anchors under the Futerra brand.
The Futerra® Stake is a patented, 5-inch, barbed anchor that will biodegrade in 10-15 months versus the current industry standard of three years, according to Profile.
Futerra Staples break down in six to nine months. They are the industry’s only biodegradable staples, according to the company, and are available in cartridges that can be loaded into staple guns.
The new accessories have been developed and added to the Profile product line to complement the company's Futerra Vegetation Blankets, bio/photodegradable blankets that have a high seed germination rate and large absorption capacity. The new stakes and staples will help reduce the time and cost of installing Futerra Blankets.
Mary Beth Fletcher, business manager of Mulch Products at Profile, said "Not only are these anchors ecologically safe and environmentally friendly, they can also reduce liability. They totally eliminate the mower damage and injury potential of metal spikes."
In addition to revegetation blankets, the Futerra Stakes can secure cable, cord or rope, netting, erosion control blankets and turf.
Profile manufactures soil modification products and mulches for use by professional landscapers, groundskeepers, sports field managers, golf course superintendents and homeowners.
