PENN VALLEY, Calif. - IrriDigital has released a new line of wirelessly programmed irrigation controllers. The IrriDigital 2-way wireless central irrigation control system allows the irrigation manager to program all IrriDigital field controllers from a desk or notebook computer. Computer software digitally links the field-tested controllers with nationwide wireless 2-way communication.
Technical requirements for an operator to use the IrriDigital system include having an IrriDigital controller within a coverage area and a Windows-based computer with a modem. The computer running the IrriDigital software does not have to be in the coverage area.
IrriDigital software allows the user to program most features on the controller, including cycle starts, run times, water days, water budgeting, rain off days and other settings. IrriDigital field controllers return program change confirmations, fuse alerts, sensor alerts, field controller site temperature and other items to the computer.
IrriDigital field controllers are available in station sizes of 4, 8, 12, 18, 24, 30 and 36. Additionally, Next Generation Sterling irrigation controllers from Superior Controls can be retrofitted with IrriDigital wireless hardware.
The IrriDigital software is distributed at no charge, and wireless airtime fees range from $5 to $15 per month, depending on usage.
