VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Continuing to meet low emission CARB II engine standards, STIHL has introduced two new hand-held power tools for lawn and landscape contractors - the FS 83RT trimmer and the FC 73 edger - that are available only in California.
FS 83RT TRIMMER. STIHL's new FS 83RT trimmer (pictured below right) features interchangeable attachments that do not require tools when changing. The unit comes standard equipped as a grass trimmer, but a variety of optional attachments can turn the unit into a hedge trimmer (zero, 30 degrees, or zero to 90 degrees), a power scythe, edger and a pole pruner.
The FS 83RT is built with a 25.4cc stratified charge engine and a solid drive shaft that transfers more power from the engine to the cutting head. This multi-cut tool includes the EASYSTART® system with the ElastoStart™ shock-absorbing starter handle and fuel primer bulb. The anti-vibration system on the FS 83RT increases operator comfort. The unit has limited "lifetime" drive shaft, clutch and ignition warranties.

FC 73 EDGER. STIHL's new FC 73 edger (pictured below right) has a power-to-weight ratio and ergonomic handle designed to make the unit easy to operate. It features an independent depth wheel adjustment that allows users to edge at specified heights. The wide gauge wheel works on uneven spaces, making it easier to edge curved flowerbeds, sidewalks or tight areas.
The FC 73 also features the EASYSTART system with the ElastoStart™ starter handle and fuel primer bulb. It also includes STIHL's anti-vibration system, a "mud flap" style debris deflector and a see-through fuel tank. The FC 73 is covered by lifetime drive shaft, clutch and ignition warranties.
