New York Landscape Contractor Dies In Tractor Accident

A Long Island, N.Y., college landscape contractor died June 19 after the tractor he was driving tumbled down a hill and crushed him, police said.

The accident happened about 3 p.m. as Henry Williams, 63, was about to begin mowing a large field at Farmingdale State College, Suffolk County police said.

The Selden man lost control of the tractor, which was pulling a mower, and went crashing about 70 feet down the hill, police said. He was thrown to the ground and was pinned by the tractor.

Williams, an employee of the college, was pronounced dead at the scene.
