MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Norman Goldenberg, senior vice president of technical services and government/regulatory affairs for Terminix and vice president of government/regulatory affairs for The TruGreen Cos., received on the Pinnacle Award from the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) last month. It is the NPMA’s most prestigious award and honors an individual’s lifetime of dedication and commitment to the pest management industry.
The Pinnacle Award was presented at the Pest World 2004 Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, with winners chosen based on an individual’s overall contributions to the industry.
”Norm Goldenberg truly reached the pinnacle of success in our industry and exemplifies all that this award represents,” says Albert Cantu, president and chief operating officer of Terminix International. “He has been dedicated throughout his career, not just to the people he has worked with, but also to supporting the pest control industry.”
Goldenberg’s career in pest control spans 43 years and includes management positions in two major pest control companies as well as operating his own company in South Florida for 14 years.
Throughout his career, Goldenberg has been active in helping improve pest control techniques and in growing the industry. He is past president of both the NPMA and the Florida Pest Management Association. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Professional Lawn Care Association of America, in addition to working with state and federal agencies on lawn care and pest management issues.
Goldenberg was recognized in 1997 when he was named the Florida Pest Control Association’s Pioneer. He has been recognized by Pest Control Technology magazine several times, twice as one of the 25 most influential people in the pest control industry, and in 2000 he was named professional of the year.
