CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The grand prize winner of the Husqvarna “Total Source” Landscaper Sweepstakes was announced at the 2004 Green Industry Expo in Charlotte, N.C., earlier this month. Matthew Thompson, owner of Thompson’s Landscaping, Henderson, N.C., was the recipient of the grand prize package, a 2005 Isuzu Truck loaded with professional Husqvarna equipment, valued at more than $50,000.
The 2005 Isuzu truck features a full landscaper body with ramp and a tool rack. The Husqvarna products included on the truck are:

- WHF4817ETS Hydro Walk-Behind Mower
- 155BT Backpack Blower
- 326LX Trimmer
- 326HS75 Hedge Trimmer
- 346XP Chain Saw

Thompson’s Landscaping specializes in grounds maintenance and landscaping installation, as well as turf management and pesticide programs. Thompson is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in horticulture and has owned Thompson’s Landscaping for the past four years.

In addition to the grand prize announcement, the sweepstakes’ second prize was awarded to Keene, N.H.-based landscaper Robert Krauss, who will receive a trip for two to a 2005 NASCAR race in Charlotte, including suite tickets, airfare and lodging. The third prize winner, Nathan Titcomb of Taylors, S.C., received a certificate for two to the Kings Experience at the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
The sweepstakes process was coordinated by Strata-G Communications and Marketing Support Services (MSS) both of Cincinnati, Ohio. The winners were randomly selected from entries that were received between April 15 and Oct. 1, 2004, from a dedicated Web site, mail-in entries and phone entries. MSS is a certified marketing fulfillment house that provides rebate and incentive services and Strata-G Communications is a fully integrated marketing communications firm.
