Residents who need pesticide training or must soon renew their licenses have a series of opportunities in coming weeks, according to Taylor Williams, an agent with the Moore County Center of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
Pesticide private applicator V recertification sessions are scheduled on Jan. 29 at the Agricultural Center in Carth-age.
The first session will begin at 2 p.m. It will be repeated at 7 p.m. These meetings are designed for people whose licenses expire in 2009.
A pesticide training session for new license applicants will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 17, with the pesticide license exam scheduled the next day at 1 p.m. Both will be held at the Ag Center in Carthage.
Williams said that the Extension Service recommends that interested persons secure pesticide exam materials from the center in Carthage or call the Pesticide Division of the N.C. Department of Agriculture in Raleigh at 919/733-3556 as soon as possible.
