NTEA Launches New Vehicle Certification Label Printing Program

Program designed to meet changing regulatory requirements.

Due to changes in regulations for vehicle certification and labeling taking effect Sept. 1, 2006, the National Truck Equipment Association is offering a new Vehicle Certification Label Printing Program.

Fla

The new Label Printing Program uses a Microsoft Excel-based template that prints six different types of vehicle certification labels with a laser printer and standard-size label stock in white. All laser-printed labels print out in black text on a white background. The color of the actual label is insignificant.

To help a user print the correct label, the NTEA has color-coded each tab in the Excel file and the background of the text input area of the Label Printing Program to match each label. This Program replaces the need for preprinted certification labels with the company name imprinted.

This change applies to the current Yellow Final-stage, White Final-state, Green Intermediate-stage, Gray Altered and Blue Trailer Vehicle Certification Labels. Only the vehicle placard will remain the same.

The new Yellow Final-stage, White Final-stage, Green Intermediate-stage and Gray Altered Vehicle Certification Labels are also available in preprinted format.

The new certification regulations and labeling requirements apply to companies using incomplete chassis built on or after Sept. 1, 2006 for the vehicles they complete.

For more information regarding the regulations and labeling requirements, or to order the new Vehicle Certification Label Printing Program and the new preprinted labels, call 800/441-6832 or visit www.ntea.com and click on “Storefront.”
