Truck equipment industry shipments increased 29.6 percent in 2005, according to the National Truck Equipment Association’s (NTEA) seventh Annual Manufacturers’ Shipments Survey. As a provider of market data and research to its members, the NTEA recently released the Survey’s findings to member companies that participated.
The goal of the Survey is to provide the work truck and trailer industry with a credible source of data for market size in dollars and units, as well as annual growth.
A number of smaller companies participated for the first time this year bringing the total member companies to 114 — that’s 37 additional companies than in the 2005 Survey (2004 data).
Survey results are presented in two formats: the actual quantity (unit) and value of shipments (dollar) data, and indexes. The calculation of indexes allows for historical continuity over time as the mix of participating companies changes from year to year.
Manufacturers that wish to participate in future surveys are asked to contact NTEA Director of Market Data & Research Steve Latin-Kasper at 414/294-3408, or e-mail stevelk@ntea.com.
