BRANTFORD, Ontario – The Nu-Gro Corporation, a Canadian manufacturer and seller of packaged commercial and consumer lawn and garden products, announced July 12 that it has renewed and expanded two corporate contracts to boost growth for both its fertilizer and consumer industry segments.

First, Nu-Gro has expanded its urea supply agreement with Terra. Effective July 1, 2000 Nu-Gro will purchase all the urea produced by Terra's Courtright, Ontario, granulator II facility, which will increase Nu-Gro's urea supply from 35,000 to 75,000 tons per year. Nu-Gro will sell the additional volume in the professional turf, ornamental and consumer markets worldwide. The term of the new agreement is for eight years.

"Terra's Courtright, Ontario, granulator II facility has the unique sizing capabilities that the market demands, and this product line will complement the NUTRALENE®, NITROFORM®, IB NITROGEN® and SCU product lines and enhance Nu-Gro's position as a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of nitrogen products," said Mark Barbera, vice president and general manager of Nu-Gro Technologies Inc.

The second announcement is that the company has extended its agreement with ICI Canada Inc. (formerly C-I-L Inc.) permitting Nu-Gro to use the C-I-L trademarks for home and garden products until 2020 with an option to renew for an additional 20 years.

"These two contracts are significant business developments which will contribute towards continued growth and profitability in our two primary industry segments," said John Hill, president and CEO of Nu-Gro. "The C-I-L brand has been a hallmark of quality for a wide range of consumer products in Canada since 1927 and our new agreement reaffirms our commitment to the brand."
