Skinner Nurseries, distributor of nursery green goods, will close its distribution centers in Buford, Ga.; Summerville, S.C.; Carrollton, Texas; and Garland, Texas, effective immediately.
“We are right sizing our business in response to the uncertain economic times that are facing our nation and our customers”, said Russell R. Skinner, president of the company. “Fortunately, our customers in these markets can easily be served by other Skinner Nurseries’ locations in the immediate areas. We are fortunate to have a great marketing footprint stretching from north Florida to the Carolinas, in metro Atlanta, and throughout Texas.”
Founded in 1973, Skinner Nurseries pioneered large container tree production in the South. It operates two major growing facilities in north central Florida, and a distribution network throughout the southeastern United States.
