Ohio Company Exhibits Excellence

WinnScapes, Inc., is the proud recipient of an ‘Excellence in Business Award,’ presented by the Snow & Ice Management Association.

WinnScapes, Inc. has taken its green industry excellence to an award-winng level.

The Gahanna, Ohio-based landscape and snow removal company recently won a 2003 “Excellence in Business Award” from the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA).

“It is a great honor to be recognized for the way we serve customers and run our business,” acknowledged WinnScapes President Rick Winnestaffer. “Our company-wide dedication to exceeding customers’ expectations has driven WinnScapes to unparalleled success in the snow removal and landscaping industries.”

Winnestaffer, 40, was a high-school senior when he created WinnScapes back in 1981. As the young entrepreneur’s business grew, he expanded his offerings to include snow emergency services. The seasonal addition helped WinnScapes maintain cash flow and keep employees busy during the year. Today, between 15 and 30 percent of the company’s annual revenues come from its snow- and ice-removal offerings.

Winnestaffer, a charter member of SIMA, was recently elected a member of its board of directors – by unanimous vote.

The annual SIMA award honors business owners who maintain a high degree of excellence in day-to-day operations. Applicants were judged based on demonstrated success in business practices, customer satisfaction, community relations and accountability, which were thoroughly documented and supported by letters of reference.
