OLCA to Hold Legislative Day at the Statehouse

Members of the green industry in Ohio are invited to attend the legislative event on Feb. 22.

The Ohio Lawn Care Association is hosting a Legislative Day at the Statehouse for members of the Ohio green industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with state legislators, discuss the importance of the green industry to the state's economy and voice why it is so important to protect the business climate.

“This meeting will be informative, helpful to each small business and non-threatening” notes a press release from the association. “If you have not spoken with our Ohio legislators before, come in, the water’s fine!”

Veteran lawn care operators and business owners who have participated in such legislative events will be in attendance to guide new participants in the legislative process. Attendees will:

  • Learn how a law is born and how the lawmaking process works
  • Experience how easy it is to make a difference with influential policymakers and government officials
  • Get the latest legislative updates concerning the lawn care industry

“You can help protect Ohio's lawn care industry,” the association notes. “Members of the Ohio general assembly want to hear from you – their voters.”

The morning session for the day-long event will be held at The Renaissance Hotel in Columbus. For more information or to register, call 800/510-5296. As part of the registration, afternoon appointments with your state legislators will be arranged for you. Attendees can visit the hotel’s Web site for directions.
