David R. Zerfoss, president of Husqvarna Forest and Garden, was elected chairman of outdoor power equipment institue (OPEI) during the association's 52nd annual meeting in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Kendrick B. Melrose, chairman and chief executrive officer of the Toro Company, was elected vice chairman at the same meeting, and Fred J. Whyte, president of Stihl Incorporated, was elected secretary/treasurer of the association.
OPEI is the major international trade association representing the manufactures and their suppliers of consumer and commercial outdoor power equipment. It was founded in 1952.
