With all-time record high gasoline prices and a volatile fuels marketplace potentially affecting the green industry, the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) will host one of the nation’s foremost authorities on the fuels marketplace and economy during GIE+EXPO (Green Industry & Equipment Expo). GIE+EXPO, which will be held Oct. 23-25 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, is sponsored by OPEI, Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) and the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
“OPEI is very pleased that Dr. John Felmy, chief economist for the American Petroleum Institute (API), Washington, D.C., has accepted our invitation to participate at GIE+EXPO,” says Kris Kiser, OPEI’s vice president of public affairs. “With near-daily fluctuations in gasoline prices and an uncertain price future, we believe Dr. Felmy’s expertise and insight into fuel prices and the marketplace will benefit lawn and landscape professionals attending.”
Felmy oversees the economic, statistical and policy analyses of API, the national trade association of the oil and gas industry.
Felmy will be a presenter on Thursday, Oct. 23, during the 5–6:30 p.m. keynote session of the Green Industry Conference (GIC), sponsored by PLANET at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Louisville. GIC is held in conjunction with GIE+EXPO, the 16th largest tradeshow in North America. For GIC registration and information, go to www.GreenIndustryConference.org.
Pre-registration for a three-day pass to the tradeshow is $10 per person. The tradeshow admission for those who wait to register onsite will be $50.
