LOUISVILLE, Ky. – To make fall clean-ups a breeze, Giant-Vac introduced a few new leaf blowers at the International Lawn, Garden & Power Equipment Expo, July 19, 20 and 21.
According to the South Windham, Conn.-based Giant-Vac, new Whisper Jet™ leaf blowers “have an aluminum impellor with higher housing, a unified frame to support the engine, a swivel wheel for ease of movement and Marathon tires that are guaranteed to never go flat,” said Kim Loder, Giant-Vac marketing manager, adding that due to small rims, contractors were complaining that tires went flat often. “So, we increased the size of the rims to prevent flat tires.”
Also added to the machine was a Kohler engine that can put out higher rpms, “which is important for airflow,” Loder said.
High-powered Whisper Jef leaf blowers are available in 6-, 8.5-, 9-, 10- and 16-horsepower models. Large inlet openings allow leaves and other debris to pass through, reducing the number of times the operator has to stop to clear the machine, Loder said. Uni-body construction reduces vibration, extends machine life and prevents axle wear.
