Orbit CEO and President K.C. Ericksen announced Eyring’s appointment at the 2005 Utah Water Conservation Symposium, which Orbit hosted on-site April 14, 2005. More than 90 guests representing 57 different municipal, government, non-profit and commercial entities, all with the common interest of promoting water conservation, attended the Symposium. Utah’s Lieutenant Governor Gary Herbert, who is leading state efforts concerning water issues, opened the Symposium. Dianne Nielson, Executive Director of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, moderated a panel discussion among state agency and non-profit executives and an open question-and-answer period.
With an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Eyring joined Orbit as Executive Vice President of Marketing in early 2005 following nearly 11 years at Ford Motor Co. A member of the distinguished marketing leadership team, his global experience at Ford included serving as the first sales and marketing manager for Vietnam, head of strategic planning and retail planning for Asia-Pacific export markets, brand strategy manager for South America, sales and marketing director for Andean markets, and CEO staff position responsible for creation of global processes and strategies.
“We believe that creation of the CCO position represents an important first for the irrigation industry and that it is one that will enable us to further our commitment to conservation,” Ericksen said. “Our overarching goal is to bring to market the world’s most efficient, highest quality water management products. Stuart’s perspective and experience make him exceptionally well qualified to foster mutually beneficial collaboration between Orbit and organizations and agencies throughout the country, advancing our shared goal of making water conservation an integral way of life.”
