The Ohio Turfgrass Research Trust, the fundraising arm of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation, recently launched its Founders Club. The new organization received $52,250 in sponsoring commitments.
“This is a fantastic day for all companies and people interested in the betterment of turfgrass,” explained Kevin Thompson, executive director of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation. “These sponsoring donations will support cutting-edge scientific turfgrass research in perpetuity.”
The Founders Club donations establish a funding vehicle in which the principle will be protected. Only the interest income generated from the principle will be earmarked for scientific support. The goal of the Founders Club is to raise more than $500,000 through multiple levels of sponsorship. Each level – platinum, gold, silver and bronze – has corresponding recognition and benefits to express appreciation of the donors.
