SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Outdoor Décor Inc., an outdoor decorative lighting service business franchise, offers opportunities for small landscaping and lawn maintenance businesses to find supplemental income during the typically unproductive winter months. The company offers a Christmas lighting franchise package and an upcoming series of traveling seminars tailored to the needs of the small-business owner to help turn a normally slow time into a more profitable time.
Instead of selling lights or displays, the company’s franchisees rent those decorations to customers. "Renting outdoor Christmas lights and decorations is an incredibly profitable business," explained Kevin Lipscomb, president of Outdoor Décor, "but it takes a great deal of focus and personal attention to be really successful at it. We've found that smaller businesses - primarily those with a total of 10 employees or less - are the ones with the most potential for success with this service. Because we were a small landscaping business when we first started Outdoor Décor, we know what it's like to have limited capital. We also understand the need for quick return on an investment. That's why we've adjusted our franchise package to accommodate the small business owner, allowing new franchisees to get started with much lower costs up front.”
The lower upfront costs are listed at $1,000 for a new Outdoor Décor franchise, according to Lipscomb. He said this is currently the lowest cost of any Christmas and decorative lighting franchise available in the U.S.
To spread the word and to keep franchisees’ costs down, the company is taking its training seminars on the road to selected cities. The series of one-day seminars will present management, sales and installation techniques associated with operating an Outdoor Décor franchise. New franchise owners may send up to two people to one of the training seminars for free. Owners may also send additional employees for $250 each. Advance registration is required.
The first series of seminars will be held on the following dates in the following cities:
- April 18: San Antonio, Texas
- April 19: Austin, Texas
- April 20: Dallas, Texas
- April 21: Ft. Worth, Texas
- April 26: Houston, Texas
- April 27: Baton Rouge, La.
- April 28: New Orleans, La.
- May 10: Oklahoma City, Okla.
- May 11: Tulsa, Okla.
