PENNSYLVANIA - In cooperation with the Turfgrass Program at Penn State, the Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council is now posting articles on the PTC Web site concerning the research that is supported by the Council’s fundraising efforts.
The Turfgrass Council has contributed as much as $200,000 a year to Penn State’s turfgrass research from funds raised through membership fees, conferences and trade shows, and golf tournaments.
Penn State’s 2003 Turfgrass Research Report was posted on the PTC Web site recently and can be accessed directly from the homepage at http://www.paturf.org/. Released in April by Dr. George Hamilton, the annual report includes results of PTC supported research on:
· Topdressing NTEP, and Soil Amendment Evaluations
· Fungicide Evaluations
· Herbicide Evaluations
· Insecticide Evaluations
· Fertilizer and Root Zone Depth Evaluations
PTC’s Web link can be used to find each of Penn State’s annual turfgrass research reports from 1999 to the most current. The reports can be read online or printed by specific article. Copies of the 2003 Turfgrass Research Report are also available by contacting Dr. Hamilton at: ghamilton@psu.edu
Other research results reported on the PTC website include an article by Dr. Andy McNitt on his "Evaluation of Playing Surface Characteristics of Various In-Filled Systems."
PTC’s website also includes these features:
