HORTICULTURAL SPECIALIST JOINS CHEMILIZER. Chemilizer has appointed Todd Macon to the newly created position of Horticulture Retail Specialist. Company Sales Manager Lawrence Pulor says Chemilizer is experiencing record-breaking sales in the horticulture and irrigation markets.
“Todd will play a valued role of helping us better organize and market our product to end users in these markets,” Pulor said.
Macon spent 16 years of his professional career with wholesaler Earl J. Small as sales and shipping manager. In this role he was instrumental in helping chain store and other retailers to promote and market horticultural and irrigation products.

REARDON JOINS RISE. Karen Reardon has been named the new director of communications for Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE). She has 10 years experience working on behalf of crop protection and pest management, and most recently was internal communications leader for CropLife America.
As RISE communications director, Reardon is responsible for the development of communications strategies and programs that promote and defend the interests of RISE members. “Karen knows and understands the issues of our industry, having worked for CropLife America for almost a decade,” says Allen James, president of RISE. “She bring great value and skill to the job of communicating to RISE members, the users of our products and the public.”

BRADY SURRENA JOINS ADVAN. Advan announced recently that Brady Surrena has joined the company as Midwest area manager of Advan’s turf and ornamentals division. He reports to Turf and Ornamentals Business Manager Robert Yarborough and is responsible for all sales-related activities involving the company’s Midwestern distribution network.
Surrena brings with him 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the professional turf and ornamentals industry. “In Brady, we found someone who combines knowledge, experience, practical know-how and maturity,” Yarborough says. “He has everything necessary to succeed in the competitive professional turf and ornamental markets. He is results-oriented and fully prepared to be an important member of the Advan team.”

OTTERBINE WELCOMES JOHN OUELLETTE. Otterbine Barebo announced that John Ouellette has become the company’s new northeast regional sales manager. Arriving at Otterbine with 16 years of experience in the irrigation industry as a territory manager for turf and irrigation sales and service in New England, Ouellette will be responsible for the sales and support of Otterbine’s distribution network in the northeast region of the United States and the eastern provinces of Canada.
“John arrives at Otterbine with substantial experience in outside sales to the residential and commercial irrigation markets throughout New England, which happens to comprise a significant part of the territory,” says Carla Ott, vice president of sales and marketing for Otterbine Barebo. “With his extensive knowledge in project management, in addition to his strong relationships with contractors and specifiers, John will prove to be an invaluable asset to the growth and success of Otterbine in the northeast region.”
