GARICK SELECTS LAYFIELD FOR SOUTHEAST REGION SALES DIRECTOR. Garick President Gary Trinetti announced recently the selection of James Layfield as southeast region sales director for The Garick Corp. and Smith Garden Products. Layfield was formerly regional sales manager-Home Depot southern region for The Scotts Co.
Layfield will direct the sales growth of Garick and Smith Garden Products in the southeastern U.S. Smith Garden Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Garick Corp. and is known for its sustainable and environmentally friendly, natural resource products for the lawn, garden, and landscape industries. Layfield will be orchestrating the sales efforts of Garick and Smith Garden Products with The Home Depot as well as other regional and national retailers of garden products.
Mr. Layfield brings with him a vast array of experience from Pursell Industries and Swift-Esmark-Vigoro Industries with emphasis on account management, sales forecasting, new product introduction, and display strategy. His managerial experience will be instrumental in recruitment, training, and budgetary and sales performance.

PBI/GORDON ANNOUNCES NEW SALES REPRESENTATIVE. PBI/Gordon Corp. has hired Trevor Radford in the position of sales representative for the company’s northwest territory.
“Trevor’s sales background is outstanding,” says Mark Miller, vice president of sales for the company’s Professional Turf & Ornamental Products group. “And he is already familiar with some of our products and key customers, which is also a plus.”
Most recently employed by Univar USA, Trevor has experience in the pest control, lawn care and agricultural markets and has a strong background in business management as well as sales. Radford joined PBI/Gordon in January and will be taking over the territory left vacant when Steve McMillan was promoted to western regional manager. The territory encompasses Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
