Hunter Hires Two New Sales Representatives

Hunter Industries announced the addition of two more members to the company’s growing roster of national sales representatives.

Danny Motylewski

Danny Motylewski will serve as specification manager for Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. He will report to western states regional sales manager Mike Lamson. Scott Martineau will work under the direction of eastern states regional sales manager Dave Peters and will handle distributor, contractor, and specifier duties in northwest Georgia (including part of Atlanta) and a substantial portion of Tennessee (including Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga).

Motylewski comes to Hunter with six years green industry experience, working in various sales and management positions within the Rain Bird Corp. Prior to that, he spent 11 years managing chemical distribution for Tamaras in San Francisco.

A graduate of St. Mary’s College with a degree in Finance and Business Administration, Motylewski currently lives in Lake Oswego, Ore., with his wife, Kim, and two children—Marin, 8, and Cal, 6.

Scott Martineau

Martineau comes to Hunter from John Deere Landscapes where he worked at the Cumming, Georgia branch for the past 2½ years. Prior to that he was employed by Florida Irrigation Supply, spending 1½ years at their Lakeland, Fla. branch and 2½ years at one of the company’s Atlanta branches. His experience with both JDL and FIS has allowed him to become quite familiar with the Hunter product line that he will now be selling—the companies are two of Hunter’s leading distributors.

Martineau is a member of the Georgia Irrigation Association and has served as the organization’s secretary for two years. A graduate of Florida State University, he currently resides in Canton, Ga. with his wife, Dana, and the couple’s 1-year-old son, Asher.

Hunter is a manufacturer of irrigation equipment for turf, landscape, and golf. The company is headquartered in San Marcos, Calif. and also maintains sales offices in Cary, N.C.; Aix-en-Provence, France; Amman, Jordan; and Beijing, China. Hunter also operates additional manufacturing facilities in Cary; Fresno, Calif.; and Tijuana, Mexico.

Stay Green Hires Branch Manager, Account Manager for Los Angeles County

Stay Green, a Santa Clarita landscape contracting firm,recently named Chris Beeler its Los Angeles branch manager and Michael Caruso as account manager. The L.A. Branch Office is located in North Hollywood.

Beeler will oversee all LA branch operations, including quality control, monitoring the budget, fleet maintenance, and managing costs. Beeler will also work with SGI Sales Manager Anne Leirer to promote new growth for the company in the region.

Bringing more than 20 years experience to the position, Beeler has worked in various aspects of landscaping, including landscape construction installation, post installation supervision, and for the last 10 years, maintenance supervision. In discussing what he feels are the most important elements of his new position, Beeler offers the following: Safety, quality, efficiency and growth from new work that provides opportunity for advancement

“I’m a numbers guy,” he said. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with several companies over the years, which allows me to pick and choose good points from each. Now I can bring those good points together here at Stay Green.”

Beeler is also a fervent believer in achieving goals through a strong team effort. “I took this position to accomplish something meaningful within the company,” he said. “Thankfully, at SGI, I’m not just one person, but I’m part of an experienced and professional SGI team. It’s comforting to know that we are all working toward maintaining the highest quality possible, promoting company growth, and achieving our team’s potential.”

Asked about goals for the Los Angeles branch, Beeler forecasts positive news. “Although we are just starting, it’s not an unrealistic goal to double our branch volume in the not too distant future.” Welcoming Chris Beeler to the company is SGI President Richard Angelo. “We at Stay Green have high
hopes for our LA Branch,” Angelo said. “With Chris’ experience and positive attitude, we are confident he will achieve the goals he has set for the region.”

Beeler lives in Orange County, where he enjoys spending time with his son, sports, hunting, fishing
and cooking.

Stay Green also appointed Michael Caruso as its account manager for Los Angeles County. Caruso will operate out of SGI’s L.A. branch office.

Caruso’s duties include serving existing accounts, including meetings with property managers and owners, “walk-throughs” of properties, identifying and resolving client issues, directing landscape upgrades and enhancements, and managing the SGI crews that work in the region. Involved in the landscape business for the last 20 years in various parts of the country, including the East Coast and San Francisco, Caruso has grown to prefer the warm Southern California weather. A previous employer in the Bay Area who happens to be a friend of SGI President Richard Angelo, referred him to SGI.

Caruso is also experienced in water and energy conservation, which should result in major cost savings for his SGI clients.

“As an account manager, I will always be on the front line of the company’s activities,” said Caruso. “I enjoy dealing with clients directly, ascertaining their needs and meeting those needs in a way that makes them happy and our company look good.”

Regarding his goals for the position, the conservation-minded Caruso commented, “Our accounts in this region are spread out in a very large area. I am going to work to see that the gaps between clients are filled in with new customers. This will bring more efficiency to our crews and our workday.”

SGI’s Financial Controller Chris Angelo welcomed Caruso to the Stay Green family. “Mike Caruso is an excellent communicator, a big picture person and an experienced salesman,”Angelo. “He will make an excellent addition to our growing LA County team.”

The announcer-voiced Caruso has quite an interesting set of hobbies that include surfing, brewing his
own beer, cooking, doing light gardening and growing carnivorous plants. He is newly married and lives in Redondo Beach.
