PIA Calls for 2009 Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame Nominations

For the past thirteen years, the Plantscape Industry Alliance has been honoring interior landscape contractors and allied trade persons who have been instrumental in the development of the interiorscape industry.

Individuals nominated must have contributed their leadership and organizational skills for a minimum of 15 years to the development and permanent betterment of the interiorscape industry. A person may be nominated regardless of state of residence or business location.

Taken into consideration will be the nominee’s:

-Extent and breadth of experience and industry activities in industry organizations such as CIPA/PIA, ALCA/PLANET or IPA.
-Personal leadership and achievements within the industry
-Personal character and integrity

Previous inductees have included: Robert Russell and Allen Secrest in 1996; Frank James and Barbara Helfman in 1997; Marvin Weitzenhoffer, Peter Herrera and Jennifer Madruga in 1998; Joan Archibald, Lorie Townsend and Julius Roehrs in 1999; Everett Conklin Sr., Gerry Leider and Joe Cialone in 2000, Greg Eberly, Linnaea Newman and Richard ‘Dick’ Wilcox in 2001; Jean Youmans, Karl Korstad, Steve McCurdy and Jeff Morey in 2002; Joel and Teri Pesapane and Richard Wilcox, Jr. in 2003; McRae Anderson, Dennis Gabrick, and Robert Herrick Carter in 2004; Gary Mangum, Steve Gainey, and Nancy Goldstein in 2005; Richard Gaines and Paul Ecke Jr. in 2006; Don and Carole Horowitz, Tony Godfrey, and Alf Emsig in 2007; and Vicky Cate, Don Wilson, and Walt Campbell in 2008.

You are welcome to submit more than one nominee per category. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee is comprised of previous inductees and makes the selection, via a unanimous decision, after reviewing all of the submissions. Nominees not chosen for induction this year will be held in consideration for 2 more years.

The inductees for 2009 will be honored at the PIA Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet which will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009, during the annual interiorscape industry convention, CalScape Expo.
