Native to the Pacific Coast, ‘Iris Douglasiana’ blooms in June and July. Drought resistant, low growing, the plant is an evergreen perennial that is perfect for both shade and sun. It blooms in a variety of colors from cream to a reddish purple. It is perfect for a variety of uses including borders, planters, fillers and mass planting. It is native to grassy hills near water.
Slow to grow, the Pacific Coast Iris, requires little water and thrives in average, well-drained water. It is one of the easiest species to grow, and it tolerates a wide range of conditions. The plant grows anywhere from 6 to 28 inches tall, with 2 to 3 inch blooms.
