PrimeraTurf, Inc., the nation’s only all-independent green industry purchasing cooperative, has issued patronage refunds to its members, elected two new directors and presented its first annual Member of the Year and Supply Partner of the Year awards.
The events took place in conjunction with the PrimeraTurf Annual Meeting and Tradeshow recently held in Cleveland.
This marked the first time PrimeraTurf members received patronage refunds from the cooperative.
“Being able to return significant dollars to our membership after just two years of operation is more than we had hoped for and reflects just how vital this purchasing cooperative is to the green industry,” comments PrimeraTurf Chief Executive Officer Frans Jager.
Also at the meeting, Tom Reed, Sr., Tri-Turf, Traverse City, Mich., and Kevin Sharpe, Southern Seeds, Inc., Middlesex, N.C., were elected to three-year terms on the PrimeraTurf board of directors. The two new directors replace founding members Herb Lea of Green Meadows Turf Supply Company in Chantilly, Va., and Kip Connelly of Landscape Supply in Roanoke, Va.
The other three members of the PrimeraTurf board are Tim Boals, J. Mollema & Son, Inc., Grand Rapids, Mic.; Brian Dixon, Dickens Turf & Landscape Supply, Nashville, Tenn.; and Jim Harris, The Chas. C. Hart Seed Company, Wethersfield, Conn.
Boals is the new chairman, Sharpe the secretary and Dixon the treasurer.
In addition, Green Meadows Turf Supply received the PrimeraTurf Member of the Year Award, and TopPro Specialties was honored as the Supply Partner of the Year. This year marked the first presentation of these awards.
