ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Pro-Tech Manufacturing, the Rochester-based manufacturer of the Sno Pusher, has been named one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States by Inc. Magazine. The annual Inc. 500 ranking, released Oct. 10, 2000, ranked Pro-Tech No. 185 on the list and described the company as “a $5.5-million maker of snowplows.”
Founded in 1991, Pro-Tech is a manufacturing and distribution company that has experienced steady growth over the last decade, especially since the introduction of the company’s Sno Pusher in 1994.
The Sno Pusher is a universal snow management tool that attaches to backhoes, loaders and skid steers to remove snow and other light materials from large commercial parking lots, runways and other spaces. Pro-Tech said the units can move as much as 500 percent more snow that traditional snow plows. Sno Pusher units are used at such locations as the Chicago O’Hare International Airport and the United States Air Force Academy.
