TUALATIN, Ore. - The Shindaiwa AH230 extended-length articulated double-sided hedge trimmer features a 10-position, 150-degree cutting range, articulated gear case and 58-inch shaft The AH230 can reach tall foliage while the operator keeps both feet safely on the ground. The unit features a double-reciprocating, two-sided blade that sculpts smoothly and cleanly, delivering a finished appearance in areas that are commonly difficult to reach with hedge trimmers.
A new use for the articulated trimmer, according to Shindaiwa, is cutting ground cover. Hedge trimmers and string grass trimmers have been used for this task in the past, but can sometimes produce an uneven cut.
The unit is powered by Shindaiwa’s 1.1-HP 230-series engine and runs through the DH230 gear case. A vibration dampening system isolates the front and rear handles from the powerhead and gearbox for operator comfort. Cutting blades are designed for long life in commercial applications, and the blade folds back completely flat against the tube for easy transportation and safe storage.
